Westfields Hospital & Clinic is seeking a dependable Cook to join our Food and Nutrition Services team. You will prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals to patients, visitors and staff, while upholding food safety and presentation standards.
The role emphasizes customer service, adherence to sanitation guidelines, and flexibility in work hours. This is a 0.6 FTE position with a 24-hour week, primarily 11:15am–7:45pm, Monday–Friday, with every 3rd weekend requirements.
Westfields Hospital is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Cook to join our Food and Nutrition Services team. In this role, you will prepare, cook, and serve attractive, nutritious, and high-quality meals to patients, visitors and team members. The ideal candidate is committed to food safety, customer service, and delivering exceptional customer experience. The cook position is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to established recipes and production standards.
Ensure food is prepared safely and in compliance with sanitation and food safety guidelines.
Practice proper portion control and presentation standards.
Adjust recipes as needed to meet production requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
FTE: 0.6; 24 hours per week
Work Schedule: 11:15am-7:45pm; Shifts Monday-Friday will vary based on business needs; Required to work every 3rd weekend.
High School/GED completion.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
Previous food service cooking experience.
Culinary degree.
Ability to safely handle food, equipment, and supplies.
Ability to calculate recipe adjustments accurately.
