Job summary

Management & Training Corporation is seeking a full-time kitchen helper to prepare center meals in accordance with predefined menus and comply with government and management directives.

The role involves instructing student helpers in safe food preparation, maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen, and supporting customer service and student employability programs. Education includes a high school diploma or equivalent and food service training; one year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare center meals in accordance with pre-planned menus and in compliance with government and management directives.
• Instruct cook helpers and work-based learning students in the safe, hygienic preparation and serving of appetizing meals.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly, workable condition and keep the work area safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas after each meal.
• Promote and support positive customer service and participate in student employability programs.

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Work schedule: Varies, Full time, 8 hours shifts- 10:30 am to 7:30 pm, with some overtime possibilities.

Job responsibilities: This position is responsible for the preparation of all center meals in accordance with pre-planned menus in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential functions:

1. Assist in instructing cook helpers and work-based learning students in the safe, hygienic method of preparing and serving appetizing, eye-appealing meals.
2. Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition, and ensure the work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
3. Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
4. Promote and support positive customer service through the facility.
5. Participate and promote student employability programs and activities.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• HSD or equivalent
• Food service training and One (1) year experience preferred.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving records. unless waived by management.
