Job summary

Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury in Lake Katrine, NY is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our full-time team. The role focuses on preparing meals per planned menus and therapeutic diets within a state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility, supporting residents’ cognitive, physical, and social needs.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, including alternate Saturdays and Sundays, with hourly pay between $20 and $22.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior industrial/commercial kitchen/cook experience.
• Able to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to planned menus.
• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing.
• Serve food with established portion control procedures.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
• Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
• Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray.
• Review care plans to assure that current dietary information is consistent with foods served.
• Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.

Our facility is designed to promote re‑acquisition of cognitive, physical, and social skills in a naturalistic setting. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team and contribute to our mission of REBUILDING BODY, MIND & SPIRIT.
