Job summary

Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, NJ, is seeking dependable and experienced Cooks to join our dietary team. The Cook will prepare and serve nutritious meals while following menus, recipes, portion controls, and special dietary requirements.

Responsibilities include preparing meals from planned menus, handling therapeutic diets, ensuring meals are served on time, maintaining sanitation, and assisting with special events.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred, particularly in a healthcare, nursing home, or institutional setting.
• Ability to prepare a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when needed.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
• Willingness to learn and implement new food service methods and practices.

• Assist with meal service and food preparation for special events and parties.
• Make only authorized food substitutions.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and organization of food service areas.
• Properly care for and maintain kitchen supplies and equipment.
• Follow established food preparation and sanitation procedures.

Pay Rate: $16.38 per hour
