Job summary

Westmont Living is seeking a compassionate Cook for our Westmont of La Mesa community, an assisted living and memory care setting. The role focuses on preparing attractive meals, accommodating special diets, and ensuring meals are served promptly while maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen.

You will work under the Culinary Director to review menu changes and help maintain high standards for resident nutrition and satisfaction. This position offers on-site work with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community.
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test.
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Attractively prepare meals that are appealing and tasty.
• Prepare special limited diets per policy.
• Prepare meals in a timely manner to ensure they are served on time.
• Identify menu errors and make appropriate corrections and report to the Culinary Director or Culinary Coordinator.
• Ensure all menu changes are reviewed with the Culinary Director/Coordinator before changes.
• Keep kitchen clean, sanitary and orderly following cleaning schedule.

What we need from you:

• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community

• Keep kitchen clean, sanitary and orderly following cleaning schedule, including shelves and cooking surfaces
