Job summary

Westmont Living, Chico is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our senior living community. The role focuses on preparing attractive meals, accommodating special diets, and maintaining timely service for residents in a caring, compliant kitchen environment.

Ideal candidates will have full-service dining cooking experience, be available for shifts, and pass health screenings, TB tests, and background checks. Training and advancement opportunities are provided within a supportive team setting.

Qualifications

• Must have full service dining cooking experience.
• Must have open availability.
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community.
• Must pass health screens such as TB and drug test.
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Attractively prepare meals that are appealing and tasty.
• Prepare special limited diets per policy.
• Prepare meals in a timely manner to ensure they are served on time.
• Identify menu errors and bring changes to the Culinary Director’s attention.
• Ensure all menu changes are reviewed with the Culinary Director before changes are made; post change notices as required by regulations.

What we need from you:

• Must have full service dining cooking experience.
• Must have open availability
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.

• Attractively prepare meals that are appealing and tasty
• Prepare special limited diets per policy
• Prepare meals in a timely manner to ensure they are served on time
• Identify menu errors and makes appropriate corrections as needed, bring the necessary changes to the Culinary Director’s/Culinary Coordinator’s attention
• Ensure all menu changes are reviewed with the Culinary Director/Culinary Coordinator before changes are made; post menu change notice as required by regulations and policies and procedures
• Keep kitchen clean, sanitary and orderly following cleaning schedule, including shelves and cooking surfaces
