Job summary

Hutchinson Health is seeking a Cook to join our Nutrition Services team. This role is 0.6 FTE, equating to 24 hours per week, with days that include every third weekend and rotating holidays.

The Cook is responsible for the safe and sanitary preparation of meals for patients, residents, clients, physicians and staff. The position emphasizes adherence to safety standards, sanitation, and quality service within a compassionate health care environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of preparation and serving of food is preferred.
• Previous experience in food service is preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness is required.
• Accuracy in following written and verbal orders is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals to patients and staff in a safe, attractive manner.
• Ensures dishes and cooking equipment are cleaned according to standards.
• Maintains sanitary conditions for food and equipment.
• Receives and stores freight promptly.
• Adheres to a rotating schedule including every 3rd weekend and holidays.
• Maintains clean personal appearance and positive attitude.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

FTE 0.6, 24 hours per week, variable start times, days, every 3rd weekend, rotating holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals to patients, residents, clients, visitors, physicians, and employees in a safe and attractive manner.
• Ensures that dishes and cooking equipment are cleaned according to standards.
• Ensures food and equipment used to prepare food are maintained in a sanitary condition.
• Ensures that freight is checked in and put away in a timely manner.
• Adheres to standard working schedule.
• Maintains a clean and appropriate personal appearance.
• Displays an appropriate, positive attitude toward the job.
• Maintains or exceeds standards for good quality work.
• Follows accepted standard safety practices as directed by the organization.
• Shows understanding of the importance of visitors and treats all patients, residents, and clients with care, respect, and gives first consideration for their needs.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
