Job summary

Lifepoint Health® is seeking a Cook to join the HSHS Rehabilitation team in Green Bay, WI. This role prepares, seasons, and cooks meals for hospital patients, staff, and visitors while leading in the department.

You will keep a clean kitchen, follow food safety policies, and coordinate with the Registered Dietitian on modified diets; the position is part-time with weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service or customer service experience.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for hospital patients, staff and visitors.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and follow infection control policies.
• Supervise Nutritional Services workers in food prep and washing.
• Coordinate with the Registered Dietitian on modified diets.

What We're Looking For

The Cook prepares, seasons and cook food for hospital patients, staff and visitors and act as a lead in the department. Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and adhering to food safety requirements.

How You'll Contribute

• Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and tests foods being cooked to ensure proper seasoning etc.
• Consult with the Registered Dietitian on modified diets, as necessary.
• Supervise Nutritional Services workers when washing, trimming or preparing food.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to approved recipes, using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, etc.
• Make sauces, soups, stews, casseroles and desserts meeting established dietary guidelines.
• Cook meat, fish and poultry in a variety of ways such as baking, roasting, broiling and steaming.
• Maintain kitchen in a clean, neat and organized manner and adheres to all infection control policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service or customer service experience with cooking experience preferred.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Schedule: Part Time: 10:00 AM - 6:00PM every other weekend
