Job summary

Seven Acres Jewish Care Services is seeking a Cook/Prep Cook to join our kitchen team in Houston. You will set up stations, prepare ingredients, and cook items in collaboration with other cooks to ensure quality and timely service.

You will follow the executive or sous chef’s instructions, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to nutrition and sanitation standards while contributing to a positive kitchen atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience and ability to work in a fast paced kitchen.
• Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• High school diploma or GED and Food Handlers Certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
• Prepare food for service and cook menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff.
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food.
• Stock inventory and maintain high quality, timely service.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
