Job summary

Greenville Post Acute in Greenville, SC is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare nutritious meals, follow approved menus, and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment. You will support dietary needs and collaborate with the dietary team.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of cooking experience (healthcare preferred), and ServSafe certification. PCC experience is a plus, with opportunities for growth within our SC network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary needs.
• Experience with PCC (PointClickCare) preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with special and therapeutic diets, including texture-modified meals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards.
• Monitor and record food temperatures.
• Assist with meal service and ensure appealing food presentation.

Position Summary

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. You may also assist in supervising kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines
• Ensure compliance with special and therapeutic diets, including texture-modified meals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards
• Monitor and record food temperatures
• Assist with meal service and ensure appealing food presentation
• Maintain proper sanitizer levels and follow cleaning schedules
• Clean kitchen equipment, work areas, and serving carts
• Collaborate with dietary team and other departments
• Report resident concerns or issues to leadership as needed
• Supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary needs
• Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred

• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
