Job summary

Meridian Senior Living in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Cook to work closely with the Dining Services Manager. You will handle food ordering, preparation, delivery, and kitchen sanitation, ensuring meals are nutritious and appetizing while maintaining supplies and equipment.

You will provide excellent customer service to residents and staff. The role requires a high school diploma, 5 years cooking experience, and compassion for the elderly, with opportunities for growth within the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and complete state-required training.
• Senior Living experience preferred.
• 5 years of professional cooking experience.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Food Handlers Permit as required by state.
• Experience working with the elderly.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team and as an individual.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the public.
• Must meet health requirements and pass background checks.

Details about the Cook position we are hiring for:

As a Cook, you will work closely with our Dining Services Manager and will be responsible for the Community’s food ordering, preparation, and delivery as well as kitchen sanitation. Cook tasks in this role include ensuring food is prepared in a nutritional and appetizing fashion, maintaining supplies and equipment, and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
