Job summary

Meridian Senior Living is seeking a Cook to join our dining team. You will work closely with the Dining Services Manager on food ordering, preparation, and delivery, ensuring meals meet nutritional standards and inviting presentation.

You will also help maintain kitchen sanitation, manage supplies, and provide friendly service to residents and visitors. The role emphasizes compassionate care for the elderly and teamwork within a supportive community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state-required training.
• 6 months experience in food service preferred.
• Must obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
• Experience working with the elderly and compassionate.
• Ability to work as a team and communicate with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver meals in a nutritional and appetizing fashion.
• Maintain kitchen supplies and equipment; ensure sanitation.
• Work closely with the Dining Services Manager on food ordering and prep.
• Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.

Details about the Cook position we are hiring for:

As a Cook, you will work closely with our Dining Services Manager and will be responsible for the Communitys food ordering, preparation, and delivery as well as kitchen sanitation. Cook tasks in this role include ensuring food is prepared in a nutritional and appetizing fashion, maintaining supplies and equipment, and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and successfully complete training as required by State regulations.
• Six (6) months prior experience in a food service department preferred.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
• Previous experience working with the elderly.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass background checks.
