Job summary

Meridian Senior Living in Orlando, FL is hiring a Cook to join our team serving residents with nutritious, appetizing meals. You will work closely with the Dining Services Manager to handle ordering, prep, delivery, and kitchen sanitation while delivering outstanding customer service to residents and staff.

Must have a HS diploma or equivalent, 6 months in food service, and a State-required Food Handlers Permit, with a passion for caring for the elderly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state-required training as applicable.
• Six (6) months’ prior experience in a food service department preferred.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
• Previous experience working with the elderly.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
• Must meet health requirements and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Order, prepare, and deliver food for the Community.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and supplies; ensure nutritious, appetizing meals.
• Work with the Dining Services Manager to coordinate meals and menus.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and internal/external customers.

Details About The Cook Position We Are Hiring For

Must be able to work weekends, schedule 10:30am - 7pm

As a Cook, you will work closely with our Dining Services Manager and will be responsible for the Community’s food ordering, preparation, and delivery as well as kitchen sanitation. Cook tasks in this role include ensuring food is prepared in a nutritional and appetizing fashion, maintaining supplies and equipment, and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
