East Missouri Action Agency, Inc. is hiring a Cook for Head Start. The role ensures compliance with USDA and Head Start nutrition guidelines and maintains a clean, safe center environment for children.

Responsibilities include planning shopping lists, grocery shopping, serving meals at safe temperatures, and performing required paperwork and trainings. The position works 35 hours per week with a starting pay of $15.68 per hour and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Experience in food preparation and nutrition.
• Able to stand, walk and stoop for extended periods; lift 35 pounds.
• Must pass annual physical and TB test and have Hepatitis A shot.
• Good attendance is required.

Responsibilities

East Missouri Action Agency has an opening for a Cookin Head Start. This position ensures that USDA guidelines and Head Start nutrition guidelines are met. Cooks are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and healthy center environment for the children. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing shopping lists, grocery shopping, serving food at safe temperatures, setting tables, operating kitchen equipment, cleaning kitchen, dining area and bathrooms, completing required paperwork, complying with health and safety standards and attending required trainings.

Applicants must be 18 or older. Candidates should have enough training and experience in food preparation and nutrition to demonstrate the capability to operate a kitchen and manage food serving operations for a center the size to which they're assigned. Must be able to stand, walk and stoop for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 35 pounds easily and be able to work around loud noise. Must receive and pass an annual physical and TB test and have had the Hepatitis A shot. Good attendance is required.

This position works 35 hours per week and the starting pay is $15.68/hour with an excellent benefit package that includes the following:
