Job summary

Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership, Inc. seeks a food service assistant to help plan menus, purchase supplies, and prepare meals for ECP children, volunteers, and staff.

You will follow OSHA and USDA guidelines and support ongoing program planning to achieve organizational goals. The role requires a high school diploma or GED (AA/BA in Early Childhood preferred), a valid driver's license, and experience cooking for infants and toddlers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; AA/BA in Early Childhood preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience cooking and cleaning around infants and toddlers.
• Seasonal schedule Aug 1 – Apr 30 annually.

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA and USDA guidelines.
• Assist with purchasing food and supplies from vendors/stores.
• Plan menus and prepare meals for ECP children, volunteers, and staff daily.
• Follow routine sanitation procedures of facilities and equipment.
• Coordinate with Teacher/Center Specialist.
• Promote school readiness for children, families, and community.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist with planning menus, purchasing food and supplies, preparing meals and snacks within the limitations of the program in accordance to performance standards. Assist with ongoing strategic programmatic planning to help the organization accomplish its goals and objectives.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Follow OSHA and USDA guidelines
2. Assist with the purchasing of needed food and supplies from vendors and/or stores
3. Assist with the planning of menus and prepare meals for ECP children, volunteers, and staff on a daily basis
4. Follow routine sanitation procedures of facilities and equipment
5. Case coordination with the Teacher/Center Specialist
6. Promote school readiness for children, families, and community members
7. Participate in all required meetings and trainings

QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School diploma or GED; prefer AA or BA in Early Childhood
2. Valid driver's license
3. Experience cooking and cleaning being around infants and toddlers
4. Position requires individual work from August 1 to April 30 every year.
