Baptist Health Hospital Food Service Unit is seeking a Cook I for full-time first shift in Corbin, Kentucky. You will prepare meals for patients, cafeteria customers, and special events using standardized recipes.

You will ensure proper portions, quality, temperature, and adherence to patient dietary requirements while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. You may assist with training and daily operations to support the team.

Qualifikationen

• One to three months of related experience preferred.
• Food Handler Card or ServSafe certification preferred.

Our patient meal program, Care Cuisine, is designed to provide nutritious, high-quality meals that support healing and enhance the overall patient experience. More than just preparing food, the Care Cuisine team works closely to ensure each patient receives meals that meet their dietary needs, personal preferences, and physician-ordered restrictions. By combining excellent customer service with attention to detail, Care Cuisine helps patients feel cared for and comfortable during their hospital stay, contributing to both their recovery and satisfaction. The unit also manages the cafeteria and catering services for hospital events, offering a variety of menu options for staff and visitors. The team consists of skilled chefs, dietitians, and food service workers who work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that the nutritional needs of patients are met to support their recovery and overall well-being.

• Monitors food supplies, replenishes items, and prepares food for upcoming meal services.
• Follows hospital policies, infection control procedures, and workplace safety guidelines.
• Assists with training and orientation of new employees and supports daily food service operations.
• Cooks, prepares, presents, and serves food items. Ensures that food is prepared in a manner, which is nutritious, safe, properly flavored and in compliance with sanitation and safety requirements, and accrediting agency standards for quality.
