Job summary

South Shore Rehabilitation in Chicago seeks a dedicated Cook to prepare and serve daily meals according to resident dietary needs, with a focus on safety and sanitation in a healthcare setting.

You will work with the dietary team, maintain a clean kitchen, set up the tray line, and ensure timely delivery of meals to patient areas, while fostering a positive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to collaborate with the dietary team and maintain a positive working environment.
• Availability to work scheduled hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Recent experience as a Cook in a healthcare environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve daily meals in accordance with resident dietary needs and preferences.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
• Assist in setting up the tray line and ensure timely delivery of meal trays to patient areas.
• Work in the dish room and maintain high sanitation standards.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and team members to ensure meal satisfaction.
