Job summary

Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and our policies. You will work under the direction of the Food Services Director to ensure quality food service at all times.

The role requires responsible, tactful interactions with residents and staff, comfort with elderly and disabled populations, and the ability to follow written and oral directions while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Tactful interaction with residents, families, staff and agencies.
• Knowledge of elderly, ill and/or disabled.
• Patience, cheerful disposition and willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Commitment to safety and not posing a health risk.

Cook JOB DUTIES:

To prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulation, with our established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the Food Services Director or designee, to assure quality food service is provided at all times

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Knowledge of elderly, ill and/or disabled.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Basic understanding of following step by step procedures.
• Follows and understands written and oral directions.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
