Job summary

Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center is seeking a cook to prepare meals in compliance with federal, state, local standards and our policies. The role requires daily food preparation with attention to safety and quality for residents in a subacute care setting.

Applicants should be able to make independent decisions, interact tactfully with residents and families, and follow both written and oral directions. Daily pay is offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, staff, and the public.
• Knowledge of elderly, ill and/or disabled.
• Must have patience, tact, and enthusiasm when handling residents.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Must not pose a direct threat to health or safety in the workplace.

Cook JOB DUTIES:

To prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulation, with our established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the Food Services Director or designee, to assure quality food service is provided at all times

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Knowledge of elderly, ill and/or disabled.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Basic understanding of following step by step procedures.
• Follows and understands written and oral directions.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
