Job summary

Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center is seeking a cook to prepare meals in compliance with federal, state, and local standards, following established policies and procedures. The role reports to the Food Services Director or designee to ensure high-quality food service at all times.

The successful candidate will be able to make independent decisions, interact tactfully with residents and families, understand elderly and disabled needs, and maintain a patient, cheerful demeanor while following

Qualifications

• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, staff and officials.
• Knowledge of elderly, ill and/or disabled.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm with residents.
• Follows written and oral directions.
• Must not pose a direct health or safety threat in the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Knowledge of elderly, ill and/or disabled.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Basic understanding of following step-by-step procedures.
• Follows and understands written and oral directions.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
