Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Charlottesville, VA seeks a part-time cook for 25 hours per week from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday. The role plans, prepares, and serves nutritious meals while maintaining a safe, orderly kitchen and inventory.

Ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year cooking for large groups; ServSafe certification preferred, with duties including food purchases, volunteer supervision, and safe meal presentation.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, cooks, and prepares a variety of foods and beverages using kitchen equipment and supplies.
• Ensures sufficient food is prepared for the number of people to be served on schedule.
• Maintains inventory and coordinates with vendors and donors to meet kitchen needs; processes food purchases and invoices.
• Assists in supervising volunteers in the kitchen.
• Duties performed in a normal kitchen environment with safety around hot stoves and freezers.

Schedule/Hours: M – S 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (25 hours per week)Position Type: Regular, Part-TimePay Range: $14.55 - $15.50About this opportunity:Plans, prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.Key responsibilities:Cleans, cooks, and prepares a variety of foods and beverages utilizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and supplies in accordance with acceptable and economical cooking methods.Ensures that enough food is prepared based on the number of people to be served and that food is prepared in a timely manner as scheduled.Maintains proper supply and orderliness of kitchen stock inventory working with vendors and donors in order to meet the needs of the kitchen; orders, receives, and processes food purchases; verifies that invoices are accurate and submits for further processing.Assists in monitoring work of volunteers working in the kitchen.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to cook, taste, and smell food. Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.
