Job summary

Mellow Mushroom Grant Park is seeking a Pantry Cook to learn Salad, Munchie, Pizza, and Expo lines. You will support the kitchen with prep, cooking, and plating, and contribute to a team-driven environment focused on timely, quality meals.

Experience is welcome, but training is available for those eager to learn. Join a lively team at our Grant Park location and grow with us in a role that values teamwork and a positive vibe.

Responsibilities

• Completes duties on opening, closing and prep checklists.
• Refers to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.
• Prepares all food ingredients in accordance with Mellow Mushroom portion sizes and recipe specifications.
• Use our Recipe Cards for preparing all products.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation including tables, shelves, walls, kitchen, and refrigeration equipment.
• Portion, prepare, and assemble menu items (Munchies, Greens, and Sweets) asrequested.
• Possess a solid sense of timing; follow cooking and plating procedures to ensure each guest receives a timely, fresh meal.
• Perform basic kitchen duties and support the kitchen team during high volume periods of time.
• Follow proper nutrition and sanitation guidelines; promote food safety above all else
• Informs Management immediately of product/ingredient shortages and equipment and food quality concerns.

Park, you’ll learn each line from Salad/Munchie to Pizza/Expo. What’s more, you’ll have everyone’s back. You aren't shy to jump in and help where needed. Whether it’s some additional prep items needed or a crush of To Goorders, you rise to the challenge of getting the job done and getting it done right. Physical Demands

• Frequent cleaning of FOH and BOH kitchen equipment and store equipment.
• Frequently required to stand for extended periods of time; sit, walk, bend and stoop.
• Frequently required to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to focus at night.

Home Grown Industries of Georgia is the Franchisor of Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers. Mellow Mushroom opened in 1974 when three college students founded a business that reflected their eccentric philosophies. They saw pizza baking as an art form, and wanted to bring joy to others by perfecting the art of pizza. The first store was created out of an old liquor store on Spring Street near Georgia Tech. To accommodate the long lines and gaining popularity, more Mellow Mushrooms sprung up around Atlanta. By the late 80's, they opened their first franchise to an existing employee, followed by customer-owned franchises, and then to friends of employees and customers. One by one, the stores sprung up, built on a good idea and a great pizza pie. As our reputation for a great stone baked pizza grew, so did we, and it continues to this day. For over 50 years, Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers has been serving up fresh stone baked pizzas to-order in an eclectic, art-filled and family-friendly environment. Each Mellow is locally-owned and operated with a unique feel focused around customer service and high quality food.
