Purpose:

Under the direction of the Food Services Director, assist in managing the operation of the Food Services Department, including food ordering and accountability, preparation, delivery, and cleanliness in accordance with health department regulations. Contribute to maintaining a positive physical and social environment for residents.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• Culinary arts training or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to relate positively to residents and families, and to work cooperatively with employees and vendors.
• Effective communication skills with residents, families, staff, officials, and the public.
• Reliable attendance.
• Meet all state health requirements and obtain Food Handlers Permit if required.
• Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in staff scheduling, orientation, and ensure equipment and work areas are maintained and sanitized, adhering to infection control and safety procedures.
• Prepare nutritious, appealing food and ensure proper presentation and dietary accommodations. Maintain cleanliness of utensils, dishes, and work areas, and store food properly.
• Participate in required training sessions.
• Ensure compliance with residents' rights regulations.
