Job summary

Home Surplus in New Jersey is seeking an Executive Operations Assistant to the COO to gain broad exposure to operations, systems, reporting, and leadership. This role supports the COO as a trusted extension, tracks priorities, gathers operational data, and helps improve execution across stores, the distribution center, and corporate functions.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities, learning the business

Qualifications

• Must have a 4 year bachelor’s degree at minimum.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities are expected.
• Ability to learn systems and workflows quickly and work across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Support the COO across a broad range of operational, administrative, analytical, and organizational responsibilities.
• Track action items, priorities, deadlines, and follow-through across multiple departments.
• Pull data, generate reports, and become highly functional within NetSuite ERP.
• Assist in gathering operational information needed for decision-making.
• Identify problems and communicate them clearly; build relationships across stores, distribution center, and corporate functions.
• Help create structure and accountability in a growing business environment.
• Represent the COO in communications, follow-up, and day-to-day operational coordination.
• Participate in store visits, operational reviews, and meetings; may represent the COO independently in some scenarios.
