Job summary

Kimmel & Associates Inc. is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to translate the CEO's strategic vision into daily operational execution across sales, rental, service, parts, logistics, and fleet management.

The COO will drive profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth, leading cross-functional teams and partnering with the CEO on geographic expansion, OEM negotiations, and post-acquisition integration.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of progressive leadership in heavy equipment, construction machinery, or industrial distribution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
• Deep understanding of dealership operations, rental fleets, depreciation, RPO, regulations.
• Proven success leading geographically dispersed teams and high-performance cultures.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
• Strong financial and operational analytics with data-driven improvement track record.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with growth objectives and the CEO’s vision.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee daily dealership operations, including Parts and Service, to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Process Improvement: Implement policies, procedures, and automation tools to streamline workflows and efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and motivate cross-functional teams across sales, rental, service, and branches.
• Operations Management: Lead equipment sales, rentals, logistics, maintenance, and fleet operations across locations.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Establish KPIs and dashboards to guide operational performance.
• Asset & Inventory Management: Manage full lifecycle of heavy equipment, fleet rotation, and RPO.
• Financial Stewardship: Manage budgets, capex plans, and revenue forecasts; oversee P&L and gross margin.
• Strategic Growth Initiatives: Support expansion into new markets, OEM relationships, and post-acquisition integration.
• Customer & Vendor Relations: Build executive-level relationships with customers, OEMs, and suppliers.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor MTTR, RFT, equipment utilization, and technician efficiency.
