Aerotek is seeking a Conveyor Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor systems and related automation in a dynamic material-handling environment in New Jersey. You will support mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, read schematics, and collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience as conveyor mechanic in industrial/material-handling environments.
• Skilled in mechanical and electrical conveyor maintenance and repair.
• Proficient at troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
• Familiar with reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams; three-phase systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on conveyor systems and related equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on conveyors including motors, drives, and sensors.
• Diagnose and repair rollers, belts, bearings, and structural components for safe operation.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting on three-phase power systems and control circuits using schematics.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical conduit and wiring for conveyor equipment.
• Use PLC troubleshooting techniques and ladder logic to identify faults and support programming adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints to plan maintenance tasks accurately.
• Carry out corrective repairs on packaging and material-handling equipment to restore functionality.
• Document inspections and maintenance activities for compliance.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve complex equipment issues.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures to maintain safety.
• Respond to breakdowns promptly and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement for equipment reliability.
