Tetra Tech’s Water Team in Irvine seeks a Conveyance Engineer – Project Manager to lead municipal water projects, overseeing planning through construction with a focus on reliable water delivery in California. The role requires 10+ years in water conveyance and CA PE preferred, with hybrid work flexibility.

Responsibilities include leading large interdisciplinary teams, managing budgets, and developing client relationships for project pursuits and interviews. Travel about 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• California PE registration preferred, or ability to obtain within six months.
• 10+ years of experience with water/wastewater conveyance systems and leading large projects.
• Strong business development skills and proficiency with project management tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel ~10%.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Lead major water and wastewater conveyance projects from planning through construction.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to support decision‑making and oversee schedules and budgets.
• Manage large, interdisciplinary teams of internal staff and subconsultants to deliver innovative solutions.
• Provide technical solutions for water distribution and transmission systems, pumps, pipelines, tunnels, tanks, and facilities.
• Deliver comprehensive construction contract documentation to meet client goals.
• Support marketing and business development activities including pursuits and project interviews.
• Mentor professionals and grow the team by recruiting and developing talent.
