Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Production Supervisor - Converting at our Richmond, VA facility to lead safe, efficient production operations. You will communicate performance expectations, supervise machine productivity, and mentor team members to meet targets.

This role requires a High School diploma, 3+ years in converting supervision, and Lean/Six Sigma experience. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving are essential to drive continuous improvement and plant performance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of converting supervisory experience in a packaging facility.
• Experience in Lean environment; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification preferred.
• Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Execute safety briefs to team members on designated shift.
• Monitor workplace safety and address unsafe conditions.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, safe work practices, and plant policies.
• Monitor and track production daily goals for the Converting machines utilizing KPIs and report results on the plant scorecard.
• Manage workforce planning, including fulfillment of work schedules and attendance policies.
• Communicate effectively with all functional areas of the plant to ensure all production needs are achieved.
• Promote positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication and collaboration.
• Supervise daily production activities and monitor performance of team members.
• Monitor and participate in Daily Management Systems to track progress against production goals.
