Job summary

First Quality is seeking a Process Engineer in Converting to drive safety-compliant improvements, support operations, and reduce downtime and waste. You will train operators, lead trials, and set up new products while collaborating with Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Production teams.

Minimum 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Ability to prioritize projects and workloads utilizing time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team.
• Fundamental knowledge of basic rolled products converting equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Analytical thought process.

Responsibilities

• Improve efficiencies of all equipment in converting process.
• Work with Quality to ensure finished product quality.
• Develops and implements plans to reduce downtime and waste and improve line efficiencies.
• Promotes growth of converting operations personnel.
• Analyzes data to identify trends and troubleshoot process problems.
• Develops and leads comprehensive teams for continuous improvement projects.
• Interacts with Purchasing, Maintenance, Planning, Quality, Safety, Project Engineering, and Production personnel.
• Proposes, installs, and commissions new equipment.
• Completes setup information and lead the launch of new products.
• Observes all safety rules and uses proper PPE at all times.
• Performs other duties as necessary and when directed to do so.
