Job summary

Houston First Corporation is seeking a Manager, Convention Services to oversee non-citywide events at our Houston venues. You will coordinate with sales, client services, and contractors to plan, execute, and close events from move-in to breakdown.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or IAVM designation and 3+ years of event management experience in convention centers or hotel environments, with strong MS Office and Momentus skills. Evening and weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or IAVM designation required.
• 3+ years’ experience as an Event Manager in a convention center, hotel, or similar environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Momentus event management software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee non-city-wide events from move-in to breakdown.
• Coordinate with sales and client services to gather event information and conduct site visits.
• Manage contractor staff to ensure objectives and timelines are met.
• Prepare event documentation, schedules, and diagrams; ensure contracts are fulfilled.
• Ensure compliance with building and fire codes and safety standards.
• Monitor events from planning through completion and post-event closeout.
