HVMG - Hospitality Ventures Management Group is seeking a Convention Services Manager at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta in the process of becoming a Hyatt Regency. You will manage client relationships, oversee event planning, and coordinate across Sales, Catering, F&B, Front Office, and other teams to deliver signature experiences.

You’ll build trust with planners, own the client journey, and ensure flawless execution from contract through post-event follow-up, while enhancing revenue

Qualifications

• A college degree or two years of hotel experience.
• Previous experience in a similar or related position.
• Additional certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Build lasting relationships with meeting planners, corporate clients, and social groups.
• Own the client journey from turnover through departure with clear communication.
• Lead planning and execution of meetings, conferences, conventions and events.
• Uncover client goals, timelines, expectations, and special requests during pre-planning.
• Create accurate BEOs, group resumes, event timelines, and operational docs.
• Lead pre-cons and planning meetings to align all departments.
• Coordinate handoffs with Sales and Catering for seamless execution.
• Elevate experiences by driving upgrades and food & beverage enhancements.
• Track event details, deadlines, and financial commitments for profitability.

Big things are happening at the Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta. We're preparing to become a Hyatt Regency, and we're looking for a Convention Services Manager to help define what that means for every group that walks through our doors.

You won't just run events here. You'll help set the service standards, build the client relationships, and create the signature experiences that define a brand-new Hyatt Regency.

As our Convention Services Manager, you're the client's go-to partner from the moment their business is booked until the last guest departs. You'll bring together Sales, Catering, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and more to make sure every promise made is a promise delivered.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build lasting relationships with meeting planners, corporate clients, and social groups, becoming the trusted partner they want to work with again and again.
• Own the client journey from turnover through departure with clear communication and follow-through at every step.
• Bring events to life: lead the planning and execution of meetings, conferences, conventions, weddings, and celebrations, anticipating needs and solving challenges before they surface.
• Dig into the details through pre-planning conversations that uncover each client's goals, timelines, expectations, and special requests.
• Keep everything on track by creating accurate BEOs, group resumes, event timelines, and operational documents.
• Rally the team by leading pre-cons and planning meetings so every department knows exactly what success looks like.
• Partner with Sales and Catering for a seamless handoff from contract to planning, execution, and post-event follow-up.
• Elevate every experience while driving revenue through upgrades, amenities, food and beverage enhancements, and other value-added services.
• Protect the promise by tracking event details, changes, deadlines, and financial commitments so the hotel delivers and profitability stays strong.
• Be the face of the event: stay visible and hands-on during key moments, resolving issues quickly and gracefully.
• Collaborate with leadership and operating teams to deliver flawless execution and exceptional guest satisfaction.
• Stay organized with accurate records and established processes throughout the event lifecycle.

Education & Experience

Hotel experience is always a plus! Applicants should have:

• A college degree or two years of hotel experience
• Previous experience in a similar or related position

Additional consideration will be given to applicants who have completed special certifications.
