Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC is seeking a skilled Controls Technician for the day shift in the southwest suburban Atlanta area. You will build and program PLC panels, integrate controls, and get automated equipment up and running.

You will troubleshoot, maintain, and service controls across pneumatic, hydraulic, motor, and sensor systems while collaborating with engineers and production teams to achieve output targets.

Qualifications

• desire at least 6 years of related experience
• PLC programming with confidence in using context clues within the PLC program
• comfortable with programming a machine process from scratch
• comfortable with wiring a 9-lead motor, and stress testing the motor's windings
• able to identify critical info from a motors data plate and use the info for specing-out or programming new control components
• familiarity with sensors: PNP, NPN, loop-powered, and dry contact
• analog control familiarity: 4-20mA and 0-10 volts
• ladder logic troubleshooting
• panel building
• electrical experience
• some robotic experience
• safety circuit integration
• must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Install, program, or repair programmable controllers and robot controllers.
• Build PLC panels and integrate controls for automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC systems using computer and electrical panels.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine upgrades on equipment.
• Configure, test, operate, and service automated production systems.
• Disassemble/reassemble equipment to replace defective parts.
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to meet output goals.
• Train others to install, use, and service equipment.
