Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to support reliability, maintenance and optimization of PLC-controlled production systems. You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain automation equipment, read schematics, and perform preventive maintenance, with CMMS work orders and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field and at least 5 years in manufacturing.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or related field preferred.
At least 5 years in manufacturing, including 3+ years as Controls Technician.
Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with HMIs, VFDs and motor controls.
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
Diagnose electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues to minimize production downtime.
Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial control systems.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and automation equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical documentation.
Install, wire, test, and commission electrical control panels, sensors, motors, and instrumentation devices.
Support automation upgrades, equipment installations, and capital improvement projects.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and complete work orders using CMMS software.
