Job summary

Meritas Advisory Group, LLC seeks a seasoned Controls Technician for a day shift in the southwest suburban Atlanta area. The role builds PLC panels, programs them, and brings automated equipment online to support production.

Responsibilities include configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting controls and other automated systems in collaboration with engineers and the production team. A strong background in PLCs and electrical systems is required.

Qualifications

• Desire at least 6 years of related experience.
• PLC programming with confidence in using context clues within PLC programs.
• Comfortable programming a machine process from scratch.
• Comfortable wiring a 9-lead motor and stress testing windings.
• Able to identify critical info from a motors data plate for specing out components.
• Familiarity with sensors: PNP, NPN, loop-powered, and dry contact.
• Analog control experience: 4-20mA and 0-10V.
• Ladder logic troubleshooting.
• Panel building experience.
• Electrical experience.
• Some robotic experience.
• Safety circuit integration.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build PLC panels and program them to run automated equipment.
• Assist in configuring, testing, operating, maintaining and troubleshooting controls.
• Operate equipment and analyze events within the system.
• Work with engineers and production teams to achieve output goals.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine upgrades.
• Repair machine controls and related systems.
• Disassemble or reassemble equipment to replace parts.
• Train others to install, use and service equipment.
