Job summary

LONG Building Technologies is seeking a Controls Technician Intern in Anchorage, Alaska, to support building automation system installations under supervision. You will assist with installation, calibration, and commissioning, and help with graphical interfaces when required.

The role emphasizes learning LONG standards, safety practices, and teamwork, with regular hours 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday–Friday and potential overtime as projects demand.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• Strong analytical skills in solving software and integration challenges.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
• Some working knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, and construction procedures.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
• Strong customer service and analytical skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of personnel including managers, engineers, and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist with programming databases for all supported systems to meet sequences of operation and equipment manufacturers recommendations.
• Assist with the installation of control system devices and wiring.
• Assist with calibration and check-out of control systems and commissioning obligations.
• Assist with graphical user interfaces preparation and delivery when required.
• Light programming.
• Travel to job sites.
• Other duties as assigned.
