Job summary

Thermo Systems LLC in Mansfield, TX is hiring a Control System Technician to support field installations, start-up, and maintenance of control systems for district energy, life sciences and mission critical projects. Travel to client sites is required for installations, maintenance, or repairs.

The role emphasizes hands-on installation, testing, FAT, wiring, HMI/PLC familiarity, and IT/network understanding within a structured QMS. AVEVA experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate in Applied Science or Associate in Science in Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems Technology, relevant curriculum, or experience.
• Typically, 2+ years industry experience.
• Proven Track Record: 2+ years as Control System Technician or equivalent.
• AVEVA System Platform and/or Operations Management Interface experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with AVEVA Historian and related AVEVA technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist and be self-sufficient in project installation, start-up and commissioning of control systems.
• Perform instrument loop checks and calibrations.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of control systems.
• Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
• Wire instruments and control panels.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications.
• Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of HMI applications.
• Proficient with startup and troubleshooting of PLC applications.
• Read and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Practice procedures outlined in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
• Accurately document work performed.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of control system design.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of electrical and mechanical system design.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) system, network infrastructure, and computer system design, as it relates to control system integration.
• Seek accredited control systems certifications and training opportunities.
