Job description

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems, including low‑voltage subsystems such as lighting, nurse call, and data networks.
• Generate flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Develop, test, and commission software programs necessary to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate and create drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects.
• Coordinate factory‑mounting processes to meet factory and project schedules.
• Assist in loading and commissioning system and network‑level controllers.
• Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades.
• Provide field change information for as‑built drawings and software updates.
• Keep management, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Assist in training owners/operators on the total building control system.
• Participate in release meetings with the project field team.
• Perform value engineering to provide cost‑effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Provide work directions to Systems Design Assistants as needed.
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of three years’ experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
• Proficiency with control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and related subsystems.
• Experience integrating low‑voltage building subsystems using industry protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LON, and others.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical audiences.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly with drafting and other computer‑related tools.

Compensation and Benefits

$71,000 – $108,000 USD annual. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
