What you do

• Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems including fire, security, and low voltage subsystems (lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.) to meet project requirements.
• Accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs.
• Develop complex software programs, commissioning, and solve for proper building control system operations.
• Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team, and subcontractors.

How you will do it

• Design and configure technically complex building control systems as defined by contract documents.
• Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Develop and test necessary software programs to operate the system per project intent.
• Coordinate and create drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects.
• Coordinate factory‑mounting processes to meet factory and project schedules.
• Assist in loading and commissioning all system and network‑level controllers.
• Assist in validating complete system functionality and solve problems with subcontractors and other trades.
• Provide field change information to the project team for as‑built drawings and software.
• Keep management and contractors informed of job progress and issues.
• Assist in site‑specific training for owner/operator on the building control system.
• Participate in release meetings with the project field team.
• Perform value engineering to provide cost‑effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• May provide work directions to Systems Design Assistants.
• Adhere to safety standards with a high degree of employee and subcontractor safety.
• Travel is required.

What we look for

• Required bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
• Experience with JCI software programming.
• Experience integrating low‑voltage building sub‑systems using industry protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet).
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non‑technical audience.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly in drafting tools.
• Ability to travel regularly.

Salary and Position Details

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $75,000 – $105,000 USD. Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
