Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Engineering Support Controls and Instrumentation Technician to join a team of skilled programmers and controls engineers on projects from concept to commissioning. You will construct one-of-a-kind control hardware and fabricate equipment for installation at multiple facilities worldwide.

You will read and interpret electrical diagrams, assemble hardware, order components, and assist with time and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required for this position.
• Two years of related experience in instrumentation or two years of formal training from a technical/trade school with emphasis in electrical, controls, instrumentation, computer science, or similar discipline is a plus.
• Must show ability to learn operational knowledge of assembling, troubleshooting, maintaining, controls, data acquisition, or similar areas during the first 90 days of employment.
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Windows based PCs.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware assembly and fabrication of designed systems.
• Order control system components based on engineering requirements.
• Order instrumentation and sensors based on user or application requirements.
• Perform time and cost estimates of fabrication work.
• Review hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for control and data acquisition.
• Troubleshoot control system software in PLC ladder logic, function block, etc., if needed.
