Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, invites motivated students to join as a Controls Engineering Intern on-site at our Nashville, TN facility. You will support design, build, program, and deployment of custom automated equipment alongside experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.
• Basic CAD skills and ability to read electrical/pneumatic schematics.
• Basic programming exposure; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support Controls Engineers on projects.
• Learn and perform basic programming tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Applications, Controls, Mechanical, Build).
• Contribute to design, build, program, and deployment of automated equipment.

Controls Engineering Intern

As a Controls Engineering Intern, you will assist and support other Controls Engineers. Learn from some of the most dedicated and technically competent engineers in the Automation Industry. JR Automation drives change by learning and innovating faster than anyone else. As a member of a project team, you’ll work alongside our Applications, Controls, Mechanical, and Build teams to support the design, build, program, and deployment of custom automated equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Requires a willingness to learn and the ability to be flexible.
• Expected that many tasks asked will be learning experiences, and experienced team members will provide proper instruction.
• Expected to make positive contributions to the company in response to the training provided.
• Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience.
• Learn and perform basic programming skills.
