Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Controls Engineer II to join our Nashville onsite team. You will design, implement and document control systems for automated equipment, working across electrical, mechanical and software interfaces to deliver robust solutions.

Responsibilities include coordinating machine debug, power-up and validation with build and electrical teams, ensuring conformance to customer specs and JR standards. Travel up to 25% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Exposure to industry through education or experience.

How You’ll Make an Impact :

• Design, implement and document control systems for various types of automated equipment.
• Conduct the electrical/hydraulic pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with the appropriate build and electrical teams.
• Ensure that equipment is designed and programmed to customer and/or JR Automation build specifications using standard techniques and approach.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree from 4-year College or university in related engineering field, or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study.
• At least3 years ofrelated experience and/or training
• Exposure to industry, an equivalent combination of education or experience.

• Experience with PLC's, HMI, Robot, AutoCAD, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and/or Vision Systems
• Current or priorJR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred

• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of equipment; up to 25% travel expected yearly.
