Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or CS degree with mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of electronics, C, C++, Java, VBA, or PLC programming strongly desired.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA and enrolled student status in a US four-year college.
  • Completed at least 30 credits; full-time on-site work (40 h/week).
  • Must attach unofficial transcript and pass a substance abuse test.
  • Work term dates: Jan 11 – May 14, 2027; must remain enrolled during rotations.

Responsibilities

  • Get to know new technologies and different fields of work.
  • Support idea generation, proof of concept, process development, and best practice transfer.
  • Create data visualizations/dashboarding for Assembly management.
  • Create/review technical and user documentation on a webpage.
  • Set up low-code app development environment and create basic app framework.
  • Lead assigned or self-initiated projects focused on process improvements.
  • Provide real time IT support for new technology issues in production.
  • Troubleshoot IT incidents related to new technology.
  • Support new tool installations/modifications/moves in Assembly.
  • Train production associates in tool use and system function.
  • Lead or assist line trials for new use cases.
  • Communicate achievements at the end of each semester.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • As Controls Engineering Co-op you will receive a well-rounded experience in controls engineering, exposing you to various aspects of system improvement, project support, and digitalization efforts. Your dedication and commitment will play a crucial role in enhancing our products and processes.
  • Key objectives include working on projects to improve energy reduction, equipment installation and uptime, and digitalization projects.

The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

  • Get to know new technologies and different fields of work.
  • Support in idea generation, proof of concept, process development, and best practice transfer for continuous improvement projects.
  • Aides in data visualizations/ dashboard creation for all levels of Assembly management.
  • Create/review technical and user documentation into a webpage as applicable.
  • Setup low code app development environment and create basic app framework, test app and iterate.
  • Lead assigned or self-initiated projects to that focus on process improvements.
  • Provide real time support to production with issues related to new technology for series processes.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting/resolution of IT incidents related to new technology.
  • Support new tool installations/modifications/moves in Assembly.
  • Train other production associates in proper tool use and system function.
  • Lead or assist in line trials for new use cases.
  • Communicate or present accomplishments and achievements at the end of each semester
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree (Electrical, Electronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Computer) or Computer Science degree with a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of electronics, C, C++, Java, VBA, or PLC programming strongly desired
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Detail-oriented
  • Organized
  • Effective communication skills
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • Must attach a copy of unofficial transcript.
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • The work term dates are January 11th - May 14th, 2027.
  • Must be an enrolled student dureing all three rotations.
