Job summary

SpecSys is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and program control systems for mobile equipment, including electrical selections, PLC and HMI programming, and CAD-based harness layouts. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project managers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with safety as a priority.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in controls and electrical design for mobile equipment, along with SAE J1939/CANopen experience and CAD proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 4+ years of controls, electrical, and mobile equipment experience.
• Experience with mobile equipment electrical design or controls.
• Knowledgeable with SAE J1939 and CANopen.
• Ability to work with CAD packages and electrical schematics.
• Experience in PLC programming and system design.

Responsibilities

• Verify design meets performance and configuration specs.
• Develop and update project timelines with periodic reviews.
• Develop system concepts to meet project function.
• Produce electronics control systems and programming for PLCs and HMI.
• Create system schematics, BOMs, and harness designs for integration.
• Provide system operation documents and client-facing design reviews.
• Support integration with mechanical, hydraulics, powertrain, and pneumatics teams.
