Job summary

Selectek, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer/PLC Programmer to design and program PLC systems, develop HMI applications, and integrate Fanuc robots in custom work cells.

You will commission VFDs/servo axes, support panel design, and troubleshoot on-site with customers, traveling about 15% of the time. An engineering background is preferred, with hands-on experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting in industrial automation.
• Experience with at least one PLC platform (Allen-Bradley, Omron, Beckhoff/Codesys, Siemens, Keyence).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work from drawings.
• Willingness to travel for commissioning/startup (~15%).
• Plus: UL508A panel design and panel build experience; HMI development.
• HMI experience with Keyence VT or FactoryTalk Optix is a plus.
• VFD/servo commissioning and Fanuc robot programming experience.
• EtherNet/IP and other industrial networks familiarity.
• Background in medical, food, CPG, or cleanroom automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and program PLC control systems, primarily in ladder logic across multiple platforms.
• Develop HMI applications (Keyence VT, FactoryTalk Optix).
• Program and integrate Fanuc robots into custom work cells.
• Commission and tune VFDs and servo motion axes.
• Support control panel design, build, and debugging with electrical staff.
• Troubleshoot electrical and controls problems on the floor and at customer sites.
• Travel to customer sites for installation, startup, and field support.
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers and sales during quoting.
• Document control programs and produce operator training materials.
