Job summary

Emtech in Seattle seeks a Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission PLC, HMI, and robot control systems at customer sites. You will develop code for robotics platforms and integrate with EtherCAT, UDP, and Codesys as part of Emtech's automation capabilities.

Collaborating with mechanical and electrical engineers, you will read electrical schematics, troubleshoot, and support onsite commissioning. The role requires travel to client sites and a focus on safe, high-performance solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field is required.
• Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and/or Omron.
• Ability to read and create electrical schematics using CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC, HMI, and robot-program code for automation systems.
• Design electrical control panels and wiring diagrams.
• Configure safety systems including guarding, safety PLCs, and interlocks.
• Commission automation systems and provide onsite startup support.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
• Travel to customer sites as required.
