Job summary

BW Papersystems is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our engineering team in the United States. This role develops and maintains control software for industrial machinery, using PLC ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams, with significant customer interaction and international travel.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years in industrial controls, plus strong knowledge of PLCs, control theory, and schematic interpretation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial controls development; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot control algorithms and machine-based software systems.
• Develop and maintain programs for machine operation, data collection, diagnostics, and peripheral communication.
• Collaborate with sales, service, and engineering to define technical specifications.
• Support checkout, installation, and commissioning with documentation and assistance.
• Interface with customers to resolve software issues and ensure system expectations.
• Produce operation manuals, diagnostic guides, and technical documentation.
