Johnson Controls seeks a Controls Engineer II to design, develop, test, and implement control software for industrial refrigeration and HVAC equipment. Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; MS preferred.
• 4–6 years of controls, automation, embedded systems, or related engineering experience, or an MS degree with relevant industry experience.
• Experience developing control algorithms and software using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Working knowledge of model-based design principles for embedded systems.
• Familiarity with control systems concepts, modeling, simulation, and data analysis.
• Experience supporting product development, validation testing, and troubleshooting efforts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and support control software for chillers and air handling units used in data centers, large facilities, and industrial environments.
• Develop reliable and maintainable code for embedded systems.
• Apply control theory fundamentals (modeling, simulation, statistics, data acquisition) to develop robust and efficient control solutions.
• Analyze system and test data to support controller development, performance optimization, and product validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers throughout product development activities.
• Participate in laboratory and field testing activities to validate control performance and troubleshoot issues.
