Job summary

Employbridge is seeking a Controls Engineer II to lead automation projects from concept through commissioning, working with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a hybrid setting. The role focuses on designing control systems, programming PLCs, and integrating sensors and safety components across industrial environments.

Qualified candidates typically hold a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics with 3–5 years' controls experience and familiarity with Safety PLCs, ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of controls or automation engineering experience
• Experience with Safety PLCs and machine safety standards
• Knowledge of ISO 13849, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and industrial networking
• Understanding of NEC and NFPA 79 standards
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems including schematics, panels, and I/O using AutoCAD Electrical
• Develop PLC and HMI programs utilizing Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Portal
• Design, troubleshoot, and optimize hydraulic and pneumatic circuits
• Integrate sensors, VFDs, servos, vision systems, and safety components
• Lead commissioning, startup, power-up, and debugging activities
• Manage small to mid-sized automation projects from concept to completion
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and customers
• Develop operator manuals and maintenance documentation
