Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Automation Specialist II to design control system details, configure instrumentation, and lead small projects from planning through testing and training.

You will develop PLC programs (Ladder, Function Block, Structured Text) and HMIs, while coordinating with customers, project managers, and installation teams. The role requires hands-on experience in industrial controls, strong Allen Bradley proficiency, and a solid understanding of Ethernet/IP networking.

Qualifications

• 4 years Industrial Controls experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related Bachelor’s discipline, related degree from a Technical College or equivalent Industrial controls experience
• 4 years of experience in PLC programming
• Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems
• Proficiency in PLC Programming including ladder logic, function block, and structured text
• Familiarity with networking (Ethernet/IP)
• Experience and knowledge of HMIs

Responsibilities

• Design control system details and instrumentation configuration for implementation.
• Prepare for implementation, testing, documentation, and training.
• Develop BOMs, IO lists, and requirements for control panels.
• Serve as the technical lead for small projects and develop PLC/HMI templates.
• Create PLC programs in ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
• Develop hardware and software test plans and simulation logic.
• Train operations and maintenance personnel on systems.
• Collaborate with customers and project teams to meet objectives.
