Job summary

Zaddy Solutions is seeking a Controls Engineer II to lead the full lifecycle of custom automation projects from concept through commissioning. You will design architectures, program controls, integrate robotics, and ensure safety and reliability on customer sites in Michigan and beyond.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong Rockwell/AutoCAD Electrical skills, and the ability to travel up to 15% internationally. Competitive salary with a quarterly bonus and 12% 401K is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years designing and programming custom automation systems.
• Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, and RIA TR R15.06.
• Proficient with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View).
• AutoCAD Electrical experience required; open to Siemens/Omron/Mitsubishi as plus.
• Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Willing to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design and program control architectures for machine systems.
• Integrate robotics, vision, drives, and servo applications into control logic.
• Configure network interfaces (DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).
• Create electrical schematics, layouts, and BOMs with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Develop robot paths and offline programming for deployment.
• Lead engineering standards and reusable code libraries.
• Coordinate system integration, start-up, and on-site commissioning.
• Provide on-site support and technical handover to clients.
• Perform safety assessments and ensure compliance with standards.
• Mentor junior controls engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
